MultiRoll Terms of Service
Effective date: October 4, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and OV, LLC ("OV", "we", "us"), the company that makes MultiRoll. They cover the MultiRoll iPhone app, the website at multirollapp.com, and everything you can do with them (together, the "Service").
By using the Service, including by tapping "Continue" or joining an album, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
Please read section 15 carefully. It requires you to resolve most disputes with us through individual binding arbitration, not in court, and waives your right to bring or join a class action. You can opt out within 30 days.
1. Who can use MultiRoll
You must be at least 18 years old to use MultiRoll. By using the Service you confirm that you are 18 or older and able to enter into this agreement. If we learn that someone under 18 is using the Service, we will delete their account.
2. Your account
MultiRoll doesn't ask for an email address or password. The first time you open the app or join from the website, we create an account for you identified by a random ID, and you choose a display name.
- Your account lives on your device. On iPhone it is stored securely on that phone. On the website it is stored in that browser. If you lose or erase your phone, delete the app on a new phone, clear your browser data or use a private browsing tab, you may lose access to your account, and today we have no way to recover it. We may offer an optional way to secure your account in the future.
- You're responsible for what happens through your account and your device. Don't share access, and don't impersonate anyone with your display name.
3. How sharing works
MultiRoll is a shared camera. It's important you understand how it works before you use it.
- Taking a photo or video shares it. When you shoot in MultiRoll, the shot is uploaded to your active album and shared with everyone in that album, usually within seconds. Shots you pick to upload from your photo library are shared the same way. The camera always shows which album you're sharing to.
- Everyone in an album sees everything in it, including shots, likes and comments shared before they joined.
- Anyone with an album's invite can join it. Invites are a QR code, a link or a 6-character code, and they keep working until the album's host stops them or ends the album. Before joining, anyone with an invite can see the album's name, tagline, cover, the display names of its members and how many shots it has. Link previews (for example in a messaging app) show the album's name, tagline and cover design, and the cover photo if the host chooses.
- Other members can keep copies. Members can save shots to their own devices. Deleting a shot removes it from MultiRoll, but we can't recall copies someone has already saved.
- Albums have hosts. The person who starts an album is its host. Hosts can manage invites, remove anyone's shots from their album and end the album. If a host deletes their account, the album passes to the next person who joined.
4. Hosts' responsibilities
If you host an album, you're responsible for who you invite and where you share its invite. If you put an invite QR code somewhere public, anyone who scans it can join and see everything in the album. Think about who might see it before you post it.
5. Your content
"Your content" means the photos, videos, comments, album names, taglines, covers, display name and anything else you add to the Service.
- You own your content. We don't claim ownership of it.
- You give us permission to run the Service with it. You grant OV a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, process (including resizing, re-encoding, applying the looks you choose and analysing it on device as described in our Privacy Policy), transmit and display your content, only as needed to operate, provide and improve the Service. This includes showing it to the members of the albums you share it in and in invite previews as described above. The licence ends when your content is deleted from the Service, except for copies other members have saved and copies we must keep for legal or safety reasons.
- You're responsible for your content. You confirm that you have the rights to everything you share, and that sharing it doesn't break the law or anyone's rights.
- Respect the people you photograph. Get the consent of the people you photograph or record where the law or common decency requires it, especially in private settings. Some places, including California, require everyone's consent before a conversation is recorded, so take care when recording video with sound. Don't share images of anyone in a state of undress or engaged in sexual activity.
6. Rules
You agree not to use the Service to:
- share anything illegal, including any sexual content involving minors;
- share nudity or sexual content of any kind;
- harass, bully, threaten, stalk or intimidate anyone, or share content that promotes violence or hatred against people based on who they are;
- share content that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, privacy or publicity rights;
- impersonate a person or organisation, or mislead people about who you are;
- send spam, or join or flood albums you weren't meant to be in;
- guess or collect invite codes, or bypass rate limits, security or access controls;
- scrape, copy or harvest content or information from the Service by automated means;
- interfere with, overload, reverse engineer or attack the Service, except as the law expressly allows; or
- use the Service for any commercial purpose we haven't agreed to.
7. Reporting, blocking and moderation
- Report any shot or comment from the viewer or the comments. A report hides it from everyone right away while we review it.
- Block anyone you share an album with. Neither of you will see the other's shots, likes, comments or membership, and they aren't told.
- We may review content and remove any content, limit features, or suspend or delete accounts that we believe break these Terms or the law, or put people at risk. We aren't obliged to monitor the Service, and we don't review every shot.
- Intimate images shared without consent. If you appear in an intimate image shared on MultiRoll without your consent, or you're authorised to act for someone who does, contact us using the contact form or at multiprojectsincorporated@gmail.com. Please include your name and a way to reach you, enough detail for us to find the image (for example, the album's name or invite code and a description of the shot), a brief statement that it was shared without your consent, and your physical or electronic signature (typing your full name is enough). We will remove the image, and make reasonable efforts to remove any copies we know of, within 48 hours of receiving a valid request.
- Child safety. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse material. We remove it and report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) as the law requires.
- People who aren't members. If you appear in a shot on MultiRoll and want it removed, contact us using the contact form.
8. Copyright
We respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). If you believe content on MultiRoll infringes your copyright, send our designated agent a notice at multiprojectsincorporated@gmail.com or through the contact form that includes:
- your physical or electronic signature;
- identification of the copyrighted work;
- identification of the material you say is infringing, with enough detail for us to find it (for example, the album's invite code and a description of the shot);
- your contact information;
- a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law; and
- a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act for them.
If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake, you can send a counter-notice through the same form. We may remove content and end the accounts of repeat infringers.
9. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect and how we use it. It is part of these Terms.
10. The Service can change
MultiRoll is new and still evolving. We may add, change or remove features, set limits (for example on storage, uploads or album size), or stop offering the Service, at any time. The Service is currently free. If we introduce paid features, we'll tell you the price before you pay, and you won't be charged without agreeing.
We don't guarantee that the Service will always be available or that your content will always be stored. Keep your own copies of anything that matters to you. You can save shots to your device at any time.
11. Ending your use
You can stop using MultiRoll at any time. In the iPhone app you can delete your account from Profile > Delete account. If you used only the website, contact us through the contact form to delete your account. What deletion removes is described in our Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or end your access at any time if we believe you've broken these Terms or the law, or to protect people or the Service. Sections 5 (the licence, for content already shared), 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17 survive after your access ends.
12. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, OV disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free, that shots will upload or be delivered, or that content will never be lost. Content in albums comes from users, not from us, and we aren't responsible for it.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows:
- OV and its members, managers, employees and agents won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, content, profits, goodwill or use, arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms, even if we were told such damages were possible; and
- OV's total liability for all claims relating to the Service or these Terms is limited to the greater of US $100 or the amount you paid us to use the Service in the 12 months before the claim.
Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
14. Indemnity
You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless OV and its members, managers, employees and agents from any claims, losses, liabilities and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your content, your use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms or the law.
15. Governing law, arbitration and class action waiver
Governing law. These Terms and any dispute between you and OV are governed by the laws of the State of California and, where applicable, the U.S. Federal Arbitration Act, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
Try to resolve it informally first. Before starting arbitration or a court case, you and OV agree to try to resolve the dispute informally. Send a written notice describing the dispute and the relief you want to multiprojectsincorporated@gmail.com (or, for notices from us, we'll contact you through the Service or any contact details you've given us). If the dispute isn't resolved within 60 days after the notice is received, either of us may start arbitration.
Binding individual arbitration. Except as described below, any dispute, claim or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service ("Dispute") will be resolved by final and binding arbitration administered by JAMS under its Streamlined Arbitration Rules and Procedures, and in line with the JAMS Consumer Arbitration Minimum Standards, in effect when the arbitration starts (available at jamsadr.com). A single arbitrator will decide the Dispute. The arbitrator, not a court, decides questions about the scope, enforceability and validity of this arbitration agreement, except as set out under "Class action waiver" below. The arbitration will take place in San Francisco County, California, or by video or phone if you prefer, or based on written submissions if the claim is under $10,000. Payment of fees will follow the JAMS rules; for consumer claims, OV will pay any fees above the amount you would have paid to file in court. The arbitrator may award the same individual relief a court could, and the award may be entered in any court with jurisdiction.
Exceptions. Either of us may (a) bring an individual claim in small claims court if it qualifies; (b) seek an injunction or other equitable relief in court to stop actual or threatened infringement or misuse of intellectual property; and (c) seek public injunctive relief in court where the law doesn't allow that right to be waived, after any arbitrable claims are decided.
Class action waiver. You and OV each agree to bring Disputes only on an individual basis, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, consolidated or representative action. The arbitrator may not combine more than one person's claims or preside over any form of class or representative proceeding. If this class action waiver is found unenforceable for a particular claim or remedy, that claim or remedy (and only that one) will be decided in court, not arbitration, and stayed until the arbitration of any remaining claims is finished.
Jury trial waiver. To the extent a Dispute goes to court, you and OV waive any right to a jury trial.
Opting out. You can opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing multiprojectsincorporated@gmail.com within 30 days of first accepting these Terms, with the subject "Arbitration opt-out", your display name, and a statement that you opt out. Opting out doesn't affect any other part of these Terms.
Courts. Any Dispute not subject to arbitration (including if you opt out) will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California, and you and OV consent to those courts' jurisdiction.
Changes. If we change this section, the change won't apply to a Dispute we already knew about before the change took effect.
16. Apple App Store terms
If you downloaded MultiRoll from Apple's App Store, these additional terms apply:
- These Terms are between you and OV, not Apple. OV, not Apple, is solely responsible for the app and its content.
- Your licence to use the app is a limited, non-transferable licence to use it on Apple-branded devices you own or control, as allowed by the App Store's Usage Rules.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
- If the app fails to meet an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price (if any). To the fullest extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
- OV, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, and consumer protection or privacy claims.
- If a third party claims the app infringes their intellectual property rights, OV, not Apple, is responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of that claim.
- You confirm that you aren't located in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you aren't on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
17. General
- Changes to these Terms. We may update these Terms. If we make a material change, we'll let you know in the Service before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after the change means you accept the new Terms.
- Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and OV about the Service.
- Severability. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
- No waiver. If we don't enforce a part of these Terms, that isn't a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
- Assignment. You can't transfer your rights under these Terms. We may transfer ours, for example as part of a merger or sale of our business.
